Cohesive Contact Models

Cohesive Contact Models
Numerical

Why it matters

Cohesive contact modelling is central to representing the interaction between aggregates and cement paste (Interfacial Transition Zone, ITZ) or the interaction with reinforcements such as FRP and FRCM.

What you'll do

  • Finite Element simulations of experimental tests on concrete reinforced with different types of fibres.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of FEM simulations from the Computational Mechanics course (or equivalent).

Tools

  • Abaqus, for modelling and for the cohesive contact between surfaces.
  • FORTRAN, if you are interested in developing user subroutines.
